SUD Provider Collaborative

The SUD Provider Collaborative is a bi-monthly meeting offering an opportunity for networking, troubleshooting and information sharing for outpatient medical providers who are learning or providing addiction treatment. Participants are encouraged to share their struggles and successes with the group, bring cases, or offer suggestions for future sessions. If you have recently conducted research and wish to share it, please contact: surge@healthfederation.org.
Increasing access to medications for opioid use disorder has been a focus of this learning collaborative since its inception in 2018. While there has been increase in the number of primary care providers in Philadelphia who seek training and offer MOUD (as well as treatment for alcohol, tobacco, and stimulant use disorders), timely access to care continues to be limited.
October 15th's collaborative will feature conversation with Dr. Maggie Lowenstein, MD, MSHP, who conducted research on behalf of PEW that demonstrated the true accessibility of buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder across access points to care. She will discuss how the findings impacted her work and offer insight into how to work with practices and systems to increase access to care.
