A common question for pain and addiction consult services is how to manage perioperative pain in patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), especially those on methadone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone.
This training builds on the 2022 CDC opioid prescribing guidelines to provide General Practitioners, Anesthesiologists, and Pharmacists with up-to-date strategies for managing perioperative pain in these patients, including those on long-acting injectable formulations.
Participants will learn how to counsel patients before surgery, apply evidence-based pain management practices, and handle potential complications to better support their patients.
