Celebration of The Sisterhood for Health Equity (SHE) Project: Evidence-Informed Interventions for Black Women with HIV

Location: Board Room, 5th Floor, 123 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19109 (Wells Fargo building)

Finger Food will be served

Black women bear the trauma of racism and experience complex and nuanced barriers to HIV prevention and care.  Despite being at greater risk for HIV infection, Black women underestimate their HIV risk which contributes to increased HIV infection and to their underutilization of PrEP.

Dr. Helena Kwakwa MD, MPH and her team will describe and present findings from The Sisterhood for Health Equity (SHE) project that was designed to be responsive to the needs of Black women with HIV.  The SHE Project is a 4-year project funded by the Office of Minority Women’s Health that includes bundled evidence-informed interventions which will be described during the presentation part of the program.

The program is designed for HIV providers in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley area to hear about this unique intervention.  Take the opportunity to meet and socialize with the SHE team regarding their roles and successes in the project.

Refreshments will be served from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm, followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Kwakwa and her team.  They will describe their experience, the interventions, successes and challenges while delivering the program, and welcome a lively discussion with the audience.  We hope you can join us for a valuable networking opportunity!
