Overdose is a leading cause of death among perinatal individuals with SUD in Philadelphia. Implementing best practices can save lives and ensure continuity of care for both parent and infant.
To support this, the Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction Division of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, in partnership with the Substance Use Response, Guidance, and Education Program at the Health Federation of Philadelphia, presents an update on perinatal SUD treatment.
This program for health professionals will cover methadone and buprenorphine initiation and titration in outpatient and inpatient settings, along with strategies to enhance continuity of care. A panel discussion will explore opportunities for improving care and promoting best practices across healthcare settings.
Additionally, this event will launch an expanded CareConnect Warmline, a trusted telehealth buprenorphine bridge clinic and peer navigation service. It will now offer specialized perinatal SUD navigation and clinical consultation to support healthcare providers.
