Defining the Role of CRS in Medical Settings

Certified Recovery Specialists (CRSs) or Certified Peer Specialists (CPSs) are increasingly needed in health care settings to support the needs of patients who use drugs. Many may find themselves as the first person to hold this role within their medical facility, resulting in the responsibility to educate medical teams about their role and how they are expected to function.

This training aims to describe the role of CRS/CPS within health care settings to help clarify what is in their scope of practice and how they can collaborate effectively with the medical team to support their patients.
